History

TUIfly traces its lineage to Hapag-Lloyd Flug, founded in 1972, and to the low-cost carrier Hapag-Lloyd Express, which launched in 2002 flying under the yellow-liveried callsign 'YELLOW CAB.' The two carriers were merged in 2007 to form TUI fly Deutschland under full ownership of German-British tourism group TUI, and the airline dropped its original yellow livery for a blue TUI-branded design in 2013.

Current Operations

TUIfly operates a Boeing 737-800 and 737 MAX 8 fleet from its main base at Hannover Airport, with additional operating bases in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich and Stuttgart. As a leisure carrier within TUI Group, it flies holidaymakers to Mediterranean and North African beach destinations across Spain, Greece, Egypt, Portugal, Morocco, Tunisia and Cape Verde, offering both charter and scheduled services.
