Ceased Operations

Starline.kz had its operating licence revoked by Kazakh authorities on 1 April 2009 amid a wider crackdown on Kazakhstani airline safety standards that led the EU to ban almost all of the country's carriers; it never resumed operations.

History

Starline.kz was a Kazakh carrier established in late 2005 and headquartered in Almaty, though scheduled flight operations did not begin until May 2007. It operated a small fleet of Boeing 737-200s on routes linking Kazakh cities with destinations in Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, launching amid a wave of new private Kazakh airlines offering short-haul international service.

Current Operations

Starline.kz does not operate today. Its airline licence was revoked by Kazakh aviation authorities on 1 April 2009, shortly before the European Union imposed a blanket ban on nearly all Kazakhstani carriers (with the sole exception of Air Astana) over the country's aviation safety oversight standards, and the carrier is listed by aviation historians as defunct.
