History
T'way Air traces its origin to Hansung Airlines, which launched Korea's first low-cost service in 2005 using ATR 72 turboprops before financial difficulties forced its closure in 2009. The business was reorganized and relaunched as T'way Air in 2010 with Boeing 737-800s, turned profitable by 2013, and expanded rapidly through the 2010s and 2020s into international short- and long-haul markets across Asia, Europe and Oceania under the ownership of Daemyung Sono Group.
Current Operations
T'way Air operates a mixed fleet of Boeing 737-800s, 737 MAX 8s and Airbus A330 widebodies from its Incheon and Gimpo bases, flying domestic Korean routes plus an expanding international network. The airline is not a member of any global alliance but holds codeshare and interline agreements with carriers including Air Premia, ITA Airways and Virgin Australia; in 2026 it is in the process of rebranding as "Trinity Airways" following a merger tied to Daemyung Sono Group's hospitality business, with the new name and livery set to take effect from 10 September 2026.
