History
Eurowings was formed in 1993 from the merger of regional carriers NFD and RFG, beginning turboprop commuter operations on 1 January 1994. Lufthansa built a stake from 2001 and took full ownership in 2011, then repositioned Eurowings as its low-cost brand, absorbing Germanwings' operations by 2015.
Current Operations
Eurowings is the largest low-cost carrier in the German market, flying an Airbus A320-family fleet on short- and medium-haul routes across Europe and the Mediterranean from bases including Düsseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Hamburg, Stuttgart and Berlin.
