Eurolot

History

Eurolot was founded on 19 December 1996 and began flying on 1 July 1997 as an independent Polish regional turboprop carrier. From around 2000 it operated increasingly as a feeder airline flying under contract for LOT Polish Airlines, and it modernized its ATR-based fleet through the 2000s. By the time of its closure the Polish State Treasury held roughly 62% of the company alongside a minority investor. Persistent financial losses led the Polish government to announce in February 2015 that Eurolot would be liquidated, and the airline ceased operations on 31 March 2015, with LOT Polish Airlines taking over a significant share of its route network and aircraft leases.

Current Operations

Eurolot does not operate. The Polish regional carrier was liquidated in 2015 after years of financial losses, and its routes and leased aircraft were largely absorbed by its majority owner, LOT Polish Airlines, which continues to serve much of Eurolot's former domestic network under its own brand (including through its LOT regional/CRJ operations).
