Transport Options at ZRH
Zürich Airport is connected to Zurich and the wider Switzerland transport network by multiple ground transport options.
SBB trains run directly beneath the terminal to Zürich Hauptbahnhof (HB) in about 15 minutes, departing every 10 minutes — one of the most frequent, seamless airport-to-city rail connections in Europe, with onward connections across the Swiss rail network and into neighbouring countries.
Local buses and trams also serve the airport, though the train to Zürich HB is faster for most city-bound trips.
Official taxis queue outside arrivals; fares run roughly CHF 3.80/km plus a base fare, making Zurich taxis notably expensive relative to the train.
Uber and Bolt operate at ZRH with designated pickup zones.
Major rental companies operate desks in the arrivals area.
Given the train's speed, frequency and direct terminal access, it's almost always the better choice over a taxi for anyone travelling without excessive luggage — Zurich taxis are priced accordingly.
