Transport Options at VIE
Vienna International Airport is connected to Vienna and the wider Austria transport network by multiple ground transport options.
The City Airport Train (CAT) runs nonstop to Wien Mitte in the city center in about 16 minutes, every 30 minutes, with discounted fares from around €7 one-way and free city check-in at Wien Mitte for same-day departures. Slower regional (S-Bahn/ÖBB) trains to Wien Mitte and other stations cost less but make stops and take longer.
Airport bus lines serve Vienna city center, Bratislava and other regional destinations — useful if your hotel isn't near a Wien Mitte connection.
Official airport taxis operate from a metered rank outside arrivals.
Uber and Bolt operate at VIE with designated pickup points.
Major international rental companies have counters at the airport.
If you can use the free CAT city check-in at Wien Mitte, drop your bags there before heading into the city rather than hauling them around — it's a genuinely underused perk.
