Transport Options at TSN
Tianjin Binhai International Airport is connected to Tianjin and the wider China transport network by multiple ground transport options.
Tianjin Metro Line 2 has a station on the B2 level of Terminal 2, running direct to downtown Tianjin with trains about every 8 minutes (first train 06:00, last around 22:55); fares run RMB 2–5. There's no dedicated high-speed rail station at the airport itself — connect via metro to one of Tianjin's main railway stations for onward high-speed trains, including the short Beijing–Tianjin intercity line.
Airport shuttle buses run from the terminal to downtown Tianjin and to the city's main railway stations, running through the day at regular intervals.
Metered taxis queue at the terminal exits; the roughly 14 km run into downtown Tianjin typically takes 20–30 minutes depending on traffic.
DiDi operates at the airport but requires a Chinese phone number and Alipay/WeChat Pay for booking and payment, so most foreign visitors default to the metro or taxi rank instead.
Domestic rental agencies have desks in the terminal; self-drive requires a Chinese driving permit, making this mainly a local-resident option.
Metro Line 2 is the cheapest and most predictable way downtown, and it's described by locals as the standard route in and out — worth it even with luggage, since it avoids Tianjin's often-congested airport-access roads.
