The Playa de las Américas / Los Cristianos beachfront promenade — roughly 15-20 minutes away and the realistic scope for a short stop. Tenerife's actual capital, Santa Cruz, is over an hour each way and not a real layover option.

Inside the airport

This is a compact, charter-oriented terminal rather than a major hub — expect landside cafes and duty-free rather than a proper lounge scene.

No hotel sits inside the terminal — if you need a bed, the Costa Adeje/Los Cristianos resort strip is a short taxi ride away. Rideshare pickups at this airport have previously been restricted, so confirm your app actually works here before counting on it over a taxi rank.

Spain is in the Schengen Area, so most Western passport holders (US, UK, Canada, Australia and others) enter visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. The EU's ETIAS pre-travel authorization has been delayed repeatedly and still isn't mandatory as of mid-2026 (current timeline points to a Q4 2026 rollout followed by a grace period) — don't worry about it yet, but don't assume that stays true indefinitely.
