Transport Options at TFS
Tenerife Sur Airport is connected to Tenerife and the wider Spain transport network by multiple ground transport options.
TITSA runs several lines from the stop right outside Arrivals: Line 10 (AeroExpress) to Santa Cruz de Tenerife (~55 min, roughly €9.35 one-way, twice hourly); Line 40 to Los Cristianos/Costa Adeje (~25 min, roughly €3.20–€3.70); Line 711 as a night service on the same Santa Cruz–South Airport–Costa Adeje corridor; and Line 415 to nearby towns (El Fraile, Las Galletas, Golf del Sur). Check titsa.com for current timetables and fares before relying on exact prices.
Regulated metered taxis rank right outside Arrivals. Short hops to nearby south-coast resorts (Los Cristianos, Costa Adeje) are moderate, roughly in the €20–30 range; the long run north to Santa Cruz is a fixed/estimated fare cited around €90–100 for the ~45-minute, 60km trip. Treat exact figures as indicative — confirm the fare or ensure the meter is running before departing.
Uber operates, but only within a defined southern zone (Arona, Adeje, Granadilla de Abona, Guía de Isora) that includes Tenerife South Airport — service began June 2023. You CAN request an Uber from the airport to anywhere on the island, but you canNOT hail one back from outside that zone (e.g. from Santa Cruz or the north). Bolt/Cabify are not established island-wide at the same level; check current app availability locally. No confirmed legal restriction beyond this geographic licensing zone.
Widely available — all major international chains (Hertz, Europcar, Avis, Sixt, etc.) plus local Canary Islands operators (e.g. CICAR) have desks in the arrivals hall; booking ahead is recommended in peak season.
If you need transport TO the north of the island (Santa Cruz/La Laguna) rather than within the south, don't count on Uber for the return leg — its service zone doesn't extend that far, so budget for the TITSA Line 10 bus or a taxi instead.
