Transport Options at PER
Perth International Airport is connected to Perth and the wider Australia transport network by multiple ground transport options.
The Airport Line train reaches Perth Station in about 18 minutes, running roughly 6am-midnight (every 12-15 minutes at peak, about every 30 minutes off-peak); the fare is around A$4-5, cheaper with a SmartRider card. Depending on which terminal you land at, a short connecting bus link to the nearest station may be required rather than a fully direct walk-on service — check terminal signage on arrival.
Public bus routes (including 37 and 292) connect the airport to the city and to the nearest train station at standard Transperth fares (roughly A$4-5), but involve transfers and take noticeably longer than the train.
Metered taxi ranks operate at all terminals; a trip to the city centre runs roughly A$45 (20-25 minutes) plus an additional A$4 airport pickup fee added to the fare.
Uber and DiDi both operate normally with dedicated pickup zones at every terminal; expect roughly A$30-32 to the city, plus a A$4 airport surcharge added to the fare.
All major international and local rental agencies have desks across the terminals; renting is common given Perth's sprawling metro area.
Perth Airport's international/domestic precincts (Terminals 1/2 vs 3/4) sit several kilometres apart with no quick walk-through connection. If you're connecting between a Qantas domestic flight and an international one (or vice versa), budget real time for the free inter-terminal shuttle bus rather than assuming it's a short walk.
