Transport Options at LGA
LaGuardia Airport is connected to New York and the wider United States transport network by multiple ground transport options.
The Q70 LaGuardia Link is a free express bus connecting the airport to the 7 train and E/F/M/R subway lines at Jackson Heights–Roosevelt Ave, and to the N/W line at Astoria Blvd — it's the fastest, cheapest way into the subway network since LGA has no direct rail or AirTrain connection.
Yellow cabs queue at designated stands outside each terminal; a ride to Midtown Manhattan typically takes 30–45 minutes (longer at peak traffic) and runs roughly $40–60 plus tolls and tip.
Uber and Lyft operate from clearly marked pickup areas at each terminal — often faster to arrange than a taxi line during busy periods, though pricing surges heavily during peak travel times and bad weather.
Rental counters are on-site across the terminals; given Manhattan's traffic and parking costs, a rental car is rarely worth it unless you're heading well outside the city immediately after landing.
LGA still has no direct rail link to Manhattan despite years of AirTrain proposals (the project was ultimately scrapped) — the free Q70 bus to the subway is genuinely the best value option if you're not in a rush and are traveling light.
