Transport Options at ICN
Incheon International Airport is connected to Seoul and the wider South Korea transport network by multiple ground transport options.
AREX express train runs nonstop from either terminal to Seoul Station in about 43 minutes (around KRW 11,000), departing roughly every 30-40 minutes between 05:20 and 23:32. The AREX all-stop (commuter) train is cheaper (about KRW 4,950-5,150) but takes about 66 minutes with 9 intermediate stops and gets crowded during rush hour.
Airport limousine buses (roughly KRW 9,000-18,000, 60-90 minutes depending on traffic) serve major hotel districts (Gangnam, Hongdae, Myeongdong) directly without a transfer — useful with luggage or when your hotel isn't near an AREX station.
Regular taxis and the Kakao T app cost roughly KRW 65,000-85,000 for a 60-80 minute trip into Seoul; a night surcharge (up to around 40%) applies from about 22:00-04:00.
Kakao T is the standard local ride-hailing app in Korea — more useful in practice than Uber, which operates on a limited taxi-partnership basis.
Major international and domestic rental counters are available, though most visitors to central Seoul don't need a car given the extensive AREX/subway network.
For groups of 3 or more, a taxi can end up cheaper per person than AREX or the limousine bus once split — worth comparing before defaulting to the train.
