Transport Options at HND
Tokyo Haneda International Airport is connected to Tokyo and the wider Japan transport network by multiple ground transport options.
The Tokyo Monorail (¥670, ~25 min to Tokyo Station) and the Keikyu Line (¥510 to Tokyo Station, ¥330 to Shinagawa, ~25 min) both connect all three terminals directly to central Tokyo and the JR network — nearly always faster and cheaper than a taxi.
Airport Limousine Buses (¥1,400, 30-60 min depending on destination) run every 15-20 minutes directly to major hotels and train stations across the city without requiring a transfer — convenient if you have heavy luggage.
Flat-rate taxis to central Tokyo run roughly ¥6,900-11,000 plus tolls (about ¥1,000) for around 40 minutes; pre-booked shared taxis are available from about ¥6,103 per person.
Western-style rideshare apps have limited presence in Japan; visitors typically rely on the metered taxi ranks or a pre-booked hire car rather than Uber/Grab-style hailing.
Rental counters are available across the terminals, but Japan's excellent rail network makes a car unnecessary for a Tokyo-only visit — more useful if you're continuing on to other regions.
The Keikyu Line's Haneda Airport Express continues onward to Asakusa in 40-50 minutes for about ¥650, which can beat the monorail-plus-transfer route if that's your final destination.
