Best use of a long layover
With a genuinely long layover (8h+), a supervised layover tour or private transfer to Avenida Paulista and MASP is the standard call — budget heavily for São Paulo's notoriously unpredictable traffic in both directions.
Inside the airport
Plaza Premium Lounge (Terminal 2, landside and domestic) and the Espaço Banco Safra lounge cover most cardholders; Fast Sleep offers day-use sleeping pods in Terminal 2, and TRYP by Wyndham operates inside the Terminal 3 international restricted area for an actual bed without re-clearing security. Note: the old Star Alliance lounge at GRU closed permanently some years back — don't route a connection around it.
TRYP by Wyndham São Paulo Airport sits inside Terminal 3's international departures area, so no security re-clear is needed; the GRU Airport Marriott and Pullman São Paulo Guarulhos are a short shuttle ride outside the terminal for longer stops.
