Transport Options at GDL
Guadalajara International Airport is connected to Guadalajara and the wider Mexico transport network by multiple ground transport options.
The 176 city bus and other local routes connect the airport to Guadalajara, but they're slow and not well set up for visitors with luggage — most travelers instead use the airport's shared-van or private shuttle services, which run frequently to major hotel zones.
Only authorized airport taxis (purchased via a ticket booth in arrivals, at a fixed rate by zone) are permitted to pick up at the terminal; a ride to central Guadalajara takes about 30–40 minutes and costs roughly $25–35 depending on the zone.
Uber operates in Guadalajara but is restricted from picking up directly at the terminal curb under local regulations — riders typically need to walk to a designated pickup point a short distance from arrivals, so check the app's pickup instructions before you land.
All major international and local rental brands operate from the terminal — genuinely useful given Guadalajara's sprawl and the popular day trips to Tequila town and Lake Chapala.
