The airport intercity railway reaches Zhengzhou East in about 19 minutes, from which the Henan Museum (with its Shang- and Zhou-dynasty bronzes) or the busy Erqi Square commercial district are realistic stops if your layover has enough buffer for immigration and re-clearing security on the way back.
