Transport Options at BNE
Brisbane International Airport is connected to Brisbane and the wider Australia transport network by multiple ground transport options.
The Airtrain runs to Central, Roma Street and Fortitude Valley in about 22-25 minutes for $23.30 one-way ($19.81 booked online), every 15 minutes at peak and 30 off-peak. It was fully closed April 3-25, 2026 for Cross River Rail integration work and has since returned to normal service — check for any future planned closures before relying on it.
The Con-x-ion shared shuttle runs to the city for $32 one-way; a budget combination of the free Skygate shuttle plus route 590 bus to Toombul station and onward public transit costs about 50 cents but adds 30-45 minutes to the trip.
Standard metered taxis run $65-80 for the airport-to-city trip.
Uber and DiDi typically run $40-45 to the city — noticeably cheaper than a taxi; linking Uber to a Qantas Frequent Flyer account earns points on the ride.
Available at both terminals; useful for day trips to the Gold or Sunshine Coast, less necessary for a Brisbane CBD-only stay given Airtrain coverage.
Given the Airtrain's history of planned maintenance closures, check current service status before your trip — when it's running it's the fastest option, but Uber/DiDi are the reliable fallback if it's not.
