Transport Options at AMM
Queen Alia International Airport is connected to Amman and the wider Jordan transport network by multiple ground transport options.
The Airport Express bus runs from outside arrivals to Amman's bus terminals and central Amman roughly every 30–60 minutes, journey around 45–60 minutes depending on traffic and destination — the cheapest way into the city.
Official prepaid taxi counters are in/around arrivals with fixed fares to Amman (roughly JOD 20–25, about 45 minutes) — safer and more predictable than negotiating with unmarked drivers.
Uber and Careem both operate in Amman and can be booked from the airport, generally cheaper than the prepaid taxi counters.
All major international chains plus local operators have desks in the terminal; useful for onward trips to Petra, the Dead Sea, or Wadi Rum, though hiring a driver is a common alternative given road conditions and desert routes.
Careem (the Middle East's dominant ride-hailing app) is usually the cheapest, most transparent option — cheaper than the prepaid taxi counters and safer than freelance drivers who approach you in arrivals.
