History

AlMasria Universal Airlines was announced in 2008 and launched operations in June 2009 as an Egyptian private carrier, taking advantage of depressed aircraft-leasing prices during the global financial crisis to lease two Airbus A330-200s from BOC Aviation. The airline achieved several regional firsts, including being the first international carrier to serve Saudi Arabia's Yanbu Airport (December 2009) and Qassim Regional Airport (June 2010). From 2017 the airline scaled back its own-brand scheduled network to focus increasingly on charter and ACMI (wet-lease) flying.

Current Operations

AlMasria Universal Airlines continues to operate from its Cairo base, providing scheduled and charter passenger services to Middle Eastern, North African, and other international destinations alongside ACMI/wet-lease flying for other carriers. It remains a privately owned Egyptian airline with no ties to a global alliance.
