History

Nasair Eritrea was established in 2006 as part of the Nasair Group, an Asmara-based aviation conglomerate that also included an airline-consulting service and an aircraft maintenance division. It operated scheduled passenger and cargo flights within Eritrea and to a small number of destinations in the Middle East and eastern Africa, including service to the United Arab Emirates, using aircraft such as the Boeing 737-200. It is unrelated to the similarly named but separately founded Saudi Arabian low-cost carrier Nas Air (NasAir/flynas), which operated in a different country and era.

Current Operations

Nasair Eritrea is no longer active. By May 2014 the carrier was reported to be out of business, and no evidence of continued scheduled flights, a current fleet, or an active air operator's certificate has been found since; Eritrea's aviation sector today is served primarily by the state flag carrier Eritrean Airlines rather than by Nasair.
