History
Mango launched on 30 October 2006 as a low-cost subsidiary of South African Airways, beginning flights the following month from Johannesburg, and grew into one of South Africa's leading budget carriers over the following decade using a Boeing 737-800 fleet.
Current Operations
Mango does not operate today. It was grounded on 28 April 2021 amid unpaid debts and a business-rescue process, its air operator's licence was formally suspended in August 2022, and a relaunch under new investors had not resumed flights as of mid-2025.
