Berjaya Air was established in 1989, originally as Pacific Air Charter, becoming part of Malaysian conglomerate Berjaya Group (via Berjaya Land) and building its business around scheduled and charter flights to Malaysia's resort islands using ATR and de Havilland turboprops.
