History
Air Arabia Egypt was established as a subsidiary of the UAE-based Air Arabia Group, securing its operating license on 22 May 2010 and beginning commercial operations on 1 June 2010. It was created to extend Air Arabia's low-cost model into the Egyptian market, operating from Egyptian bases to connect the country with destinations across the Middle East, North Africa and southern Europe.
Current Operations
Air Arabia Egypt operates a small fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft leased from its parent, flying scheduled routes from its base at Borg El Arab Airport in Alexandria to destinations including Saudi Arabia, Sharm el-Sheikh, Istanbul, Cairo and Milan. It remains a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Arabia Group and is not part of a global airline alliance.
