History

SCAT (Special Cargo Air Transport) was founded in 1997 in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, growing from a cargo-focused operator into one of Kazakhstan's largest scheduled passenger airlines. In March 2018 it became the first carrier in a post-Soviet country to take delivery of the Boeing 737 MAX 8.

Current Operations

SCAT operates an extensive domestic Kazakhstan network plus regional international routes from focus cities including Shymkent, Almaty, Astana and Aktau, flying a mixed fleet of Boeing 737s (including MAX variants) and regional turboprops/jets. It also runs the low-cost subsidiary Sunday Airlines and holds codeshare/interline agreements with carriers such as Azerbaijan Airlines.
