History
Senegal Airlines launched in 2011, backed by the Senegalese state and Saudi investors, as the country's new flag carrier succeeding the collapsed Air Sénégal International. Based in Dakar under CEO Edgardo Badiali, it built a small regional fleet and expanded to roughly a dozen West and Central African destinations.
Current Operations
Senegal Airlines does not operate today. It formally ceased all operations on 12 April 2016 after accumulating debts exceeding 100 billion CFA francs; the Senegalese state later launched Air Sénégal as its successor in 2018.
