History
Interair South Africa was established in 1979 as Inter Air Lines and relaunched under the Interair brand in 1993-94, building a Johannesburg-based network of scheduled domestic and pan-African regional routes from 1995 onward using MD-80 and Boeing jets.
Current Operations
Interair South Africa does not operate today. It halted operations in August 2015 following the death of long-time executive chairman and CEO David Tokoph, and the airline was subsequently wound down.
