Airline Identity
History
Daallo Airlines was founded in Djibouti in 1991 by Mohammed Ibrahim Yassin Olad, commencing operations on 20 March 1991 with a small fleet of Soviet-era aircraft flying regional routes across the Horn of Africa. The airline later moved its head office to Dubai, and in 2015 aligned with Somaliland's Jubba Airways under the African Airways Alliance while keeping its own brand.
Current Operations
Daallo operates scheduled turboprop and narrow-body services linking Djibouti, Somali destinations such as Mogadishu and Hargeisa, and Gulf points including Dubai. The airline remains barred from EU airspace and has periodically sought to add Boeing 737-800s to modernise its fleet.
