History

Air Botswana was established on 2 July 1972 to replace two failed predecessor carriers, initially flying a single Fokker F-27, and was designated Botswana's state-owned flag carrier in 1988. It has operated ever since as a parastatal wholly owned by the Government of Botswana from its Gaborone base.

Current Operations

Air Botswana operates scheduled domestic flights linking Gaborone with Francistown, Maun and Kasane, plus regional international routes to Johannesburg and Cape Town, using a small fleet of regional jets/turboprops. It holds codeshare and interline agreements with carriers including Kenya Airways, Qatar Airways and Air Seychelles.
