History

First Air traced its roots to Bradley Air Services, founded in 1946 as a flying school and charter operator in Ontario before evolving into a major carrier serving Canada's Arctic and northern territories under the First Air brand, operating passenger and cargo services to remote communities.

Current Operations

First Air ceased to exist as an independent brand after merging with Canadian North on November 1, 2019; the combined carrier initially flew under a joint First Air/Canadian North livery before full integration under the Canadian North name.
