Overview

Founded in 1949 by eleven airlines, SITA is an airline-owned cooperative delivering passenger processing, baggage, border-management, and aircraft-communications technology to more than 2,500 airline, airport, and government customers in over 200 countries. It employs roughly 4,500-4,900 people of 130+ nationalities and posted record 2024 results with revenue up 8.3% year over year. Air-cargo IT subsidiary CHAMP Cargosystems became a fully owned SITA business in 2022, and SITA continues expanding biometric and AI-based passenger processing following a major 2021 data breach that exposed Star Alliance passenger records.
