Overview
Saab Digital Air Traffic Solutions (SDATS) develops remote and digital air traffic control tower technology, allowing controllers to manage one or more airports from a centralized command center using camera masts and augmented-vision displays. The company originated as a joint venture between Saab and Swedish air navigation provider LFV, which in April 2015 deployed the world's first remote tower operation at Örnsköldsvik Airport; Saab became full owner of the venture in December 2021. Its Digital Tower systems have since been installed at airports in Sweden, the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the United States.
