Wholly owned by the Lufthansa Group and based in Raunheim near Frankfurt, Lufthansa Systems provides airline IT for flight operations, network planning, and financial systems, employing about 2,800 people across Germany and 16 other countries. It marked 30 years in aviation IT in 2025 and, in November 2025, opened a new subsidiary in India to expand its engineering capacity. The company divested its Infrastructure/data-center unit to IBM in 2015 to focus on Airline Solutions and Industry Solutions software.
