Overview
Leidos is a major U.S. government technology and engineering contractor whose aviation business spans FAA air traffic control system integration and airport security screening equipment. Its FAA work includes long-running contracts for flight information services, digital flight data systems and radar modernization, while its Security Detection and Automation Systems unit (acquired from L3Harris in 2020) supplies the X-ray and CT baggage/checkpoint screening machines used at airports worldwide. Leidos traces its roots to Science Applications International Corporation, founded in 1969, and spun off as an independent company in 2013.
