Overview

A Charlotte, North Carolina-based unit of RTX (formerly Raytheon Technologies), Collins Aerospace employs more than 80,000 people, including 20,000+ engineers, across avionics, cabin interiors, structures, and mission-systems businesses that posted $28.3 billion in 2024 adjusted sales within RTX. Its Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based Avionics division operates one of the world's largest flight-tracking and aircraft-data platforms, supplying satcom, cabin management, and predictive-maintenance systems, backed by roughly $4 billion in annual R&D investment. Its legacy ARINC MUSE common-use platform (vMuse/cMuse), inherited from ARINC, remains in active airport deployment for shared check-in and gate infrastructure. In October 2026, Collins Aerospace and SITA announced that SITA had signed an agreement to acquire Collins Aerospace's Airport Solutions business — the passenger-processing, self-service, and baggage-handling unit that includes ARINC MUSE — a deal expected to close in H1 2027 pending regulatory approval; the rest of Collins Aerospace's avionics, cabin-interiors, structures, and mission-systems portfolio continues under RTX.
