Founded in 1987 and based in Madrid, Amadeus operates one of the world's three major global distribution systems (GDS) and passenger service systems (PSS), processing bookings and IT operations for airlines, hotels, and travel agencies. FY2025 group revenue reached €6.52 billion (up 6.1%) on more than 2.25 billion passengers boarded through its Air IT Solutions. As of 2026 Amadeus is expanding fast into identity technology, having completed a €320 million acquisition of biometrics firm Vision-Box in 2024 and announced a planned €1.2 billion acquisition of IDEMIA Public Security to build an end-to-end biometric travel platform.
