Overview
Airports Council International is the global trade body representing the world's airport operators, formed in 1991 through the merger of earlier regional airport associations and headquartered in Montreal (relocated there from Geneva in 2011). ACI operates as a federation of ACI World and five regional bodies — ACI Europe (Brussels), ACI Asia-Pacific (Hong Kong), ACI-North America (Washington, D.C.), ACI Latin America and Caribbean (Panama City), and ACI Africa (Casablanca) — and, per its own reporting, its membership spans several hundred airport-operator members running more than 2,100 airports in roughly 170 countries. The organization sets airport industry standards and best practices, runs the widely cited Airport Service Quality (ASQ) passenger-satisfaction benchmarking program, and publishes the annual World Airport Traffic rankings (Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson again topped 2025 rankings, with strong Asia-Pacific growth reshaping the field). Justin Erbacci has served as ACI World's Director General since September 2024.
