Poland's national aviation museum, built on the grounds of the former Kraków-Rakowice-Czyżyny airfield. Established in 1963 and formally opened in 1968, it holds one of Europe's largest aviation collections, with over 250 aircraft, gliders and helicopters spanning Polish, German, Soviet and Allied aviation history.
Notable Exhibits
- PZL P.11c — The only surviving example in the world of this pre-war Polish fighter, preserved because German forces kept it as a war trophy.
- Supermarine Spitfire LF Mk XVIe — British WWII fighter representing the Polish airmen who flew with the Allies.
- TS-11 Iskra — Polish-designed jet trainer, part of the museum's extensive post-1945 Polish aviation collection.
- Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 — German World War II fighter displayed among the museum's wartime aircraft.
