The Venezuelan Air Force's aeronautics museum, inaugurated December 10, 1963, at the former Aeropuerto Nacional Florencio Gómez in Maracay, Aragua state. Described as the largest collection of its kind in Venezuela and one of the largest in Latin America, it displays more than 40 historic aircraft spanning from early 20th-century biplanes to mid-century military and civil types. Notable items include the replica of Jimmie Angel's Flamingo aircraft and the airplane used by Marcos Pérez Jiménez to flee Venezuela in 1958.
