Aviation Museums › Aircraft Collection
The Finnish Aviation Museum (Suomen Ilmailumuseo) in Vantaa is Finland's national aviation museum, tracing the country's aviation history from early gliders to military jets and commercial airliners. It grew out of the Aviation Museum Society founded in 1969 and opened to the public in 1972, originally housed in the basement of the Helsinki Airport terminal before moving to its current purpose-built facility in 1981. The collection includes roughly 80 aircraft and extensive photo and library archives.
