Opened in 1960 as the National Aviation Museum and relocated to Rockcliffe Airport in Ottawa after being renamed the National Aeronautical Collection in 1964, this museum (now operated by Ingenium, Canada's national museums of science and innovation) holds one of the world's premier collections of historic aircraft.
Notable Exhibits
- Avro Arrow remains — Surviving nose section, outer wing panels and rudder from the cancelled 1950s Canadian supersonic interceptor.
- de Havilland Canada Beaver and Otter — Iconic Canadian-built bush planes representing Canada's role in opening up its north to aviation.
- Supermarine Spitfire — World War II-era fighter variants on display representing Allied wartime aviation.
- Canadarm (Space Shuttle Endeavour) — The Canadian-built robotic arm used on the Space Shuttle, unveiled at the museum in 2013.
