Transport Options at XPL
Palmerola International Airport is connected to Palmerola and the wider Honduras transport network by multiple ground transport options.
Several operators (Empresa de Transportes Palmerola/ACOTAXU, Transportes V Estrellas, Transportes Cristina) run scheduled departures to Tegucigalpa and Comayagua from the terminal, plus COTHATY's 24-hour mixed taxi/collective service; a separate "Palmerola Connect" shuttle to the old Toncontín airport in Tegucigalpa has reportedly moved from free to paid — confirm on arrival.
A 24-hour taxi stand at arrivals uses fixed, zone-based fares set at the official counter inside the terminal (Comayagua, Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, etc.); no published rate card was found, so confirm the fare at the counter before riding.
Uber operates in the area, but availability for Tegucigalpa trips specifically is reported as unreliable — booking ahead or using the scheduled bus/taxi options is the safer bet.
Rental counters are in the arrivals hall; specific brands weren't independently confirmed, so check availability with your preferred chain in advance.
This is NOT a quick hop into the capital — Tegucigalpa is a genuine 60–90 minute drive from here, since Palmerola replaced the old in-city Toncontín airport specifically because of that airport's safety issues. Comayagua's own town centre, by contrast, is only about 15 minutes away.
