Transport Options at PSA
Pisa International Airport is connected to Pisa (PI) and the wider Italy transport network by multiple ground transport options.
The PisaMover automated people mover connects the airport directly to Pisa Centrale railway station in about 5 minutes, running frequently (roughly every 5–8 minutes); from Pisa Centrale, regional trains reach Florence in about an hour.
The LAM Rossa city bus line also runs from the airport into central Pisa (a cheaper if slower alternative to the PisaMover-plus-walk combination), useful if your destination is within Pisa itself rather than onward by rail.
A taxi rank sits right outside arrivals; central Pisa (including the Leaning Tower) is only about 10–15 minutes away and costs roughly €15–20.
Uber has limited-to-no presence in Pisa; taxis or the PisaMover/bus are the practical options for most travelers.
Major international brands operate from counters near arrivals — a sensible choice if you're continuing on to Tuscany's countryside (Chianti, Lucca, the coast) rather than staying in Pisa or Florence itself.
Pisa's airport is unusually central — the Leaning Tower is about 15–20 minutes' walk from the terminal in good weather, or a very short taxi ride — making it one of Europe's easiest 'do the sight and fly out' layover airports.
