Getting Around

Keisei Skyliner runs from Terminal 1 to Keisei-Ueno in about 41 minutes (around ¥2,580 one-way, less with an advance ticket) — the fastest route to eastern Tokyo (Ueno, Asakusa). JR Narita Express (N'EX) runs from Terminal 1 to Tokyo Station and on to Shinagawa, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro or Yokohama in roughly 53-95 minutes depending on destination (about ¥3,070 to Tokyo Station). N'EX is covered by the Japan Rail Pass; the Skyliner is not.

Airport limousine buses connect NRT directly to central Tokyo hotels without changing trains — useful with heavy luggage, though slower than rail in traffic.

Taxis are available at each terminal but are a notably expensive way to reach central Tokyo (roughly 60-90 km away) — rail or the limousine bus is the standard choice for most travellers.

Uber and GO operate in Tokyo as taxi-hailing apps rather than Western-style private rideshare — useful for booking a metered taxi from your phone.

Major Japanese and international rental companies have counters at the airport — most useful for travel outside central Tokyo, since driving in the city itself is rarely necessary.
