How to get to and from Nanning Wuxu International Airport — taxis, public transport, shuttles and car rental.
Transport Options at NNG
Nanning Wuxu International Airport is connected to Nanning (Jiangnan) and the wider China transport network by multiple ground transport options.
Wuxu Airport has its own railway station (opened December 2022, adjacent to Terminal 2) on the Nanning–Pingxiang high-speed line, with a roughly 15-minute, 15–20 CNY ride to Nanning Railway Station downtown — a quick option, though it's a separate system from the Nanning Metro, which still doesn't reach the terminal.
Airport Bus Line 1 runs to Nanning Railway Station and other central stops roughly every 30 minutes from Gate 6 (about 20 CNY, ~60 minutes); other shuttle lines serve additional city destinations. Nanning's metro network doesn't yet reach the terminal directly, so buses, the airport's own rail link, and taxis carry most of the traffic.
Metered taxis are available at the official rank outside arrivals, roughly 80 CNY and 40 minutes to downtown, 24 hours.
Didi operates in Nanning, generally requiring a Chinese phone number to book.
Domestic rental firms have counters in the terminal.
For a fast trip downtown, the airport's own high-speed rail station (adjacent to Terminal 2) beats the bus on time. A dedicated airport metro line (referred to in city planning documents as the S1 line) appears in Nanning's longer-range rail plans, but as of this writing no construction start or opening date has been confirmed — don't assume a direct metro connection exists yet; check locally before you fly.
