Transport Options at LPA

Gran Canaria Airport is connected to Gran Canaria Island and the wider Spain transport network by multiple ground transport options.

Bus & Shuttle

Global operates the interurban buses from Floor 1 (Departures level): Line 60 is the principal connection into Las Palmas (fares roughly €2.30–€6.80 depending on stop), and Line 66 serves Playa del Inglés/Maspalomas in the south.

Taxi

Official taxi rank is outside Floor 0 (Arrivals). Regulated meter plus an airport supplement (~€2.10). Rough guide: €25–€35 to Las Palmas (20–30 min), €40–€55 to Playa del Inglés/Maspalomas (25–40 min) — treat as indicative, not guaranteed current pricing.

Rideshare

Neither Uber nor Cabify operates in the Canary Islands (including Gran Canaria) — this is a genuine, notable gap: the Gran Canaria Cabildo has rejected thousands of VTC (private-hire) license applications to protect the traditional taxi sector, so ride-hailing apps are effectively unavailable island-wide, not just at the airport.

Car Rental

All major international chains plus regional operators (e.g. CICAR) have counters on Floor 0 of Arrivals; a rental car makes sense for multi-resort island trips.

Insider tip

Because Uber/Cabify aren't an option here, budget-conscious travelers should use the Global bus (Line 60/66) rather than assuming an app-based ride will be available as a cheaper alternative to a taxi — it won't be.
