Getting Around

DAMRI operates airport shuttle buses to various points around Bali (Denpasar, Kuta, Sanur, and further afield); useful for budget travelers but slower than a taxi given traffic.

Official prepaid taxi counters are inside arrivals with fixed fares by zone (e.g. Kuta, Seminyak, Ubud) — use these rather than unmarked drivers who solicit outside; fares to nearby Kuta/Seminyak run roughly IDR 150,000–250,000.

Grab and Gojek both operate in Bali, but pickup directly at the terminal is restricted by local taxi-cooperative rules — many travelers order a Grab/Gojek but have to walk to a designated pickup point outside arrivals rather than being met at the door.

Available, but self-drive in Bali (heavy traffic, scooters everywhere, an International Driving Permit technically required) is a common source of accidents for tourists — many visitors hire a private driver for the day instead.
