Public buses exist but are not generally recommended for the airport-city run given well-documented safety concerns on that corridor; most guides steer arriving travelers toward official taxi desks or prearranged transfers instead.

Use only the officially authorized taxi desks inside the terminal (companies such as Taxi Tour, Taxi Explorer/UTAC, and Astrala are commonly cited) rather than hailing outside. Taxis are not metered — agree the fare in cash (commonly USD) before departing. Venezuela's currency instability makes any bolívar-denominated price unreliable within days; sources put a rough city-centre fare around US$40-50, but this should be treated as a loose, fast-moving estimate, not a quote.

Uber operates in Caracas but in a legal grey area without a formal regulatory framework, and driver availability can fluctuate; local apps inDrive, Ridery, and Yummy Rides are also used and are often cited as better suited to airport pickups since fares are negotiated or fixed in advance, which helps with the volatile currency situation. None of these should be treated as a substitute for basic caution on this route.

International brands (e.g. Hertz) maintain a presence at the airport, but inventory, pricing, and accepted payment methods (often USD cash or specific card types) can be inconsistent given the economic situation — confirm details directly with the agency before travel rather than relying on general listings.
