Downtown Boston (Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall) is about 20-25 minutes away via the free inbound Silver Line SL1 bus to South Station, which connects directly to the subway — note the return trip isn't free.

Inside the airport

The Hilton Boston Logan Airport is directly walkable from Terminal A; the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor is across the water and reached by hotel water shuttle or ferry, not on foot.

The US has no international-to-international transit zone: every passenger, including those only connecting onward, must clear full CBP immigration and customs with a valid US visa or ESTA/VWP authorization — there is no way to stay airside without one, regardless of whether you plan to leave the airport.
