Minimum layover for city3 hours

Best use of a long layover

Accra and Dover beaches are only a couple of miles from the terminal — enough for a swim even on a short layover — or take the roughly 45-minute Mount Gay Distillery tour on the Bridgetown waterfront if you have 3+ hours.

Inside the airport

The Airlines Executive Lounge (Priority Pass or ~BBD 60 walk-up), as long as your flight falls inside its Tuesday-closed, roughly 12:30pm-8pm hours.

No hotel sits on airport grounds; south-coast properties around Oistins and Hastings are a short taxi ride away for a longer break.

Barbados has expanded visa-free access to roughly 81 countries, so most travelers — including the US, UK, EU and Canada — can clear immigration without a prior visa. Confirm your specific nationality before you fly.
Transit visa requirements vary by nationality and change frequently. Always verify with the official embassy or consulate of Barbados before travel.

Download offline maps for Bridgetown in advance — useful if you leave the terminal and connectivity is patchy.
Always allow at least 3 hours buffer before your next departure when leaving the airport — immigration queues are unpredictable.
Check your next airline's check-in deadline. Some require you to be at the gate 45–60 minutes before departure.
